The St. Landry Parish School District is excited to welcome Octavia Warren as the new Assistant Principal of the Magnet Academy of Cultural Arts!🎉
An Opelousas native with 22 years of experience in education, Mrs. Warren joins MACA after serving as Principal at Grand Coteau Elementary and Central Middle School. Throughout her career, her focus has remained the same: creating a supportive environment where both students and teachers can excel. At MACA, she aims to empower staff and educate students academically, socially, and emotionally.
Outside of school, Mrs. Warren and her husband, Aubrey, are proud parents to three sons. Supported by her family, she is deeply passionate about giving back to the community of St. Landry Parish.

After serving as classroom teacher, Administrative Assistant at Port Barre High, and most recently as MACA's Assistant Principal, she is excited to step into leadership at a school she loves. Outside the classroom, she’s an active community member, local theater performer, and devoted wife and mother.

MACA would like to recognize our JAG specialist, Carmen Leger, and her JAG students for being recognized at the JAG EDGE Awards with a National Network Award. This award recognizes the highest-achieving states, regions, and programs that exceed all five of Jobs for America's Graduates National performance metrics aimed at graduation, employment, and connectivity.

We are a little under a month away from the start of the 2026-2027 School Year. We are so excited to welcome everyone back. This graphic is a guide for parents when buying school uniforms. Spirit wear is allowed every Friday. MACA sweatpants bought from the online spirit store can be worn any day when the temperature is below 50 degrees. You can purchase uniform shirts with the MACA logo from Splash in Opelousas. Spirit wear can be ordered through the following link. Round 1 of spirit wear ends on July 20.

🌟 Bonus: Eligible students can get tuition assistance for Dual Enrollment at LSUA or NSU (up to 12 college hours)!
