📢IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: Changes to Work Permits (Employment Certificates)📢
Please be aware of an immediate, state-mandated change regarding youth work permits. Due to Louisiana House Bill 232 (2026), the process for obtaining these certificates has changed.
What you need to know:
Effective immediately, the St. Landry Parish School Board Central Office and all SLPSB schools no longer have the ability to issue employment certificates.
💼 The New Process:
1️⃣ Once a student is offered and accepts a job, the employer is responsible for providing the Employment Certificate Form.
2️⃣ Employers can access and download the form online at www.laworks.net.
3️⃣ Once the form is fully completed, the employer must submit it via email to Employmentcertificate@la.gov.
4️⃣ The certificate is officially issued once confirmed by the Louisiana Workforce Commission.
